Who was Søren Kierkegaard?

On Wednesday 22 September you can learn more about why the Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard is so famous all over the world that some Chinese people even learn Danish with the sole purpose of reading Kierkegaard’s works in their original language.
The University International Club (UIC) invites you to attend a lecture by Associate Professor
Jacob Bøggild, who has studied the works of Søren Kierkegaard in great depth and published a number of books on Denmark’s great master of philosophy.
Søren Aabye Kierkegaard lived from 1813 to 1855, and is now regarded as one of the founders of modern existential philosophy. His most famous works include
Either/Or (1843) and Works of Love (1847). Kierkegaard often wrote under a pseudonym, and this indirect form of communication leaves it largely up to each single individual to understand his works because many of them were not written by the author himself.
The lecture takes place at 10 am-12 noon at the Faculty Club.
