Aarhus University Seal

A slimmer university in future

There’s a small pond in one of the courtyards at the Aarhus School of Business, surrounded by buildings on all four sides. And once again this year a female mallard has chosen this spot to bring up her family – safe from all possible predators.
This is by no means the first time the courtyard has been used by a family of ducks, explains Jette Hammer, Director of the ASB Career Centre, whose windows open onto the courtyard.
“The ducks and ducklings have nested here in each of the five years I’ve been working at ASB, and we keep a good watch on them. It’s actually called ‘the duck courtyard’ in their honour,” she explains.
