A student at the Aarhus School of Business has been expelled for six months for cheating at an examination – he copied large parts of his answer straight from the internet.
“Copying texts from other students or the internet is the commonest form of cheating,” says Peder Østergaard, vice-dean of the school.
With a view to solving this kind of problem, the School of Business is now testing a service facility called “Urkund”, which is capable of detecting plagiarism in assignments that are submitted electronically.
