Aarhus University Celebration
Aarhus University celebrated the anniversary of its foundation on Friday 9 September. The celebrations began in the afternoon, with speeches, research lectures, musical interludes and awards of prizes in the University Main Hall.
In accordance with its tradition, Aarhus University awarded an honorary doctorate in each of the main disciplinary areas. The four researchers awarded the title of 'doctor honoris causa' in 2011 were Professor Francis Fukuyama (Arts), Professor George M. Whitesides (Science and Technology), Professor Timothy A. Springer (Health) and Professor Anne O. Krueger (Business and Social Sciences). In the evening, the celebrations continued at the Concert Hall.
