Two professors from Aarhus University have recently received Advanced Grants amounting to many million Danish Kroner from the European Research Council (ERC). The ERC supports the very best frontline research with a view to generating major progress in the world of European research. Professor Jens Stougaard from the Department of Molecular Biology has been awarded a grant of about DKK 17 million for his research into how plants can convert nitrogen in the air into fertiliser; while Professor Jørgen Christensen-Dalsgaard from the Department of Physics and Astronomy will receive more than DKK 18 million for his study of the stars in the universe.
Aarhus University has now received a total of five ERC Advanced Grants.
